ENG Radio Diwanistan combines musical influences from Eastern Europe, the Middle East and the Balkans to create a fresh new sound between oriental party atmosphere and Eastern European blues. A haunting mixture was created by the duo Julia Rhomberg & Hassan Ibrahim Berzencî, who sing in dialogue, but in different languages. With their compositions, arrangements and improvisations to regional traditionals, the almost lost Jewish songs from Hungary and Transylvania, from Kurdish ballads, Middle Eastern urban dance music, Roma traditionals and Rome pop, Sephardic songs from the Balkans to Istanbul and Arabic classical music Radio Diwanistan play both in the intimate setting of chamber music stages and dance music at open-air festivals.
DT Radio Diwanistan vereint musikalische Einflüsse aus Osteuropa, dem Nahen Osten und vom Balkan zu einem frischen neuen Sound zwischen orientalischer Partystimmung und osteuropäischem Blues. Eine explosive Mischung entstanden aus der Zusammenarbeit von Julia Rhomberg und Hassan Ibrahim Berzencî, die im Dialog, aber in unterschiedlichen Sprachen singen. Mit ihren Kompositionen und Improvisationen zu regionalen Traditionals, der fast verloren gegangenen jüdischen Liedern aus Ungarn und Siebenbürgen, von kurdischen Balladen, nahöstlicher urbaner Tanzmusik, Roma Traditionals und RomPop, sefardischen Liedern vom Balkan bis Istanbul und arabischer Klassik spielt Radio Diwanistan im intimen Rahmen ebenso wie Tanzmusik auf Open-Air-Festivals.
